Greek Islands are divided in
small groups, all of
them are unique, no one of
the islands looks like the
other.

big choice what to visit:
one of the Ionian islands
with its Venetian features
or you may prefer the
classical Greek style of the
Cyclades Islands.
The Greek Islands offer
something to everybody's
taste, and everyone will
never forget their Greek
Islands holidays.
The
Saronic Gulf Islands
are located very
close to the mainland and
are very popular with
travelers to Athens, as they
are very easy
accessible from the port of
Piraeus. They are certainly
worth visiting, there is a
rich choice of them.
The most
popular and the largest
island of the Saronic
Islands is Aegina (Aigina),
and it is the easiest and
fastest one with to reach
from Piraeus.
The other
Saronic Gulf
Greek
Islands, such as
Poros,
Hydra
and
Spetses
are all rather close
to each other, and the
Greece travelers like making
day trips to all of the
Saronic Gulf islands
especially those who may not
have enough time to explore
the other islands all around
Greece.
The visitors
traveling to Central or
Northern Greece
prefer going to the
Sporades Islands. The
Sporades Islands are part of
both the prefectures of
Magnesia
(in Central Greece)
and the large island of Evia.
The
views here on these Greek
islands are exiting and very
green. The Sporades Greek
Islands are the perfect
destination for people who
prefer quiet and relaxing
holidays far away from the
busy and crowd daily life.
The Cyclades
Islands are the most famous
and popular of all of the
island groups in Greece.
They consist of 39 islands,
24 of them are inhabited, it
is a place where you will
find typical white churches,
beautiful sceneries and deep
blue seas.
The famous
Greek islands of
Mykonos,
Santorini,
Naxos
and
Paros
are included in this
group. These islands have
many interesting sites and
places of interest, as well
as a very great nightlife
and entertainment with many
bars, restaurants, discos
and other activities.
The
Dodcanese Islands are
situated in the far
south-east of the Aegean Sea
and they are also very
popular destinations for
many visitors. The large and
famous island of
Rhodes
can be found here in the
Dodecanese, as well as other
Greek Islands such as Kos,
Simi and Karpathos.
Some
of these islands are very
close to the mainland
of
Turkey,
and you can find ferry boats
that travel to Turkey from
these islands, if you wish
to have further explorations
during your holidays.
The other
group of Greek Islands
situated to the far east of
the Aegean Sea are the North
East Aegean Islands. The
islands of
Samos,
Hios
and Lesbos can all be
found here. These Greek
islands are very popular
with visitors thank to many
interesting sites to visit.
